The (Summer) Garden

Song of Songs 4:13-16 NIV

Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates with choice fruits, with henna and nard, nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with every kind of incense tree, with myrrh and aloes and all the finest spices. You are a garden fountain, a well of flowing water streaming down from Lebanon.

Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow on my garden, that its fragrance may spread everywhere.

Dear ICTG Family!

In Summer, everywhere you look, something is flourishing. Different flowers, plants, trees; so many colours, and so many shades of green - all planted and rooted in the same soil, flourishing as they grow, reaching for the light. And, of course, the analogy is not new or lost on you. 

This is also a picture of our heart and the vision forThe Garden. It is our experience, and our daily prayer as pastors and as the team, that as we go deeper with God, that His truth and its overflow in our hearts and lives, would enrich and encourage us, and all those He brings to us, in The Garden. By being Jesus-centred, we long to see many ‘taste and see that the Lord is good’.

Summer often brings with it a change of pace or routine and perhaps a slower rhythm, and below you can find the details of what will change for a few weeks on a Sunday morning, here in ‘The (Summer) Garden’. 

Below you can also find the dates of several exciting things which will follow after the Summer, not least for our Kids’ Ministry, and details of our next Baptism service. Perhaps getting baptised is the next step for you in your faith as you follow in Jesus’ footsteps? Or maybe, our next Freedom in Christ course will encourage and equip you to build your life on God’s truth, and walk in the freedom that is ours in Jesus? Whatever is next for you, and whatever your Summer has in store, as ‘iron sharpens iron’, we pray that we may each encourage one another to ‘press on’, to follow in His footsteps, and to become more like Him.
