FOUNDERS/PASTORS

Evert and Géraldine Nooter

​

Having lived in six countries with their young family, Evert and Géraldine understand the longing to feel truly rooted. Géraldine was raised in a missionary family, and Evert, once a staunch atheist, met Jesus after university.

 

What started originally as a small group in their own garden, blossomed into what is now International Church The Garden, and both Evert and Geraldine now serve full-time as the pastors.

​​

They believe that the church is where people are planted in God’s love, grow in faith, and flourish—so others may “taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8).

​

YOUTH PASTOR

Gavrièl Groenesteijn

Gavrièl became a Christian when he was 16 years old, and is most definitely an evangelist at heart!

​​

As Youth Pastor, Gavrièl leads our youth ministry "BRAVE" teams (for teenagers aged 12-17 years old), and "GROW" (for young adults aged 18+).
 

He is studying theology part-time at Christelijke Hogeschool Ede. ​​​

ELDERS

David and Margaret White

​

David and Margaret have lived in the Netherlands for over 35 years, with a brief season in the US - but their Scottish accents still affectionately reveal their roots. Married for over 50 years, they share a deep passion for helping people encounter Jesus and have led many Alpha and Freedom in Christ courses over the years.

​​

Margaret heads up The Garden's Care Team, offering spiritual support and prayer to those in need, while David has extensive church leadership experience.

ELDER

Daan Noorman

 

Daan became a Christian when he was 20 years old.​ A retired dentist, Daan has been married to Melinda for more than 50 years.

 

Daan has a heart for the prophetic and a deep passion for the nation of Israel and all topics related to it - and leads our Israel and End Times Interest Group.

​

FOUNDER

Pastor Emeritus Herman van Amerom

​Pastor van Amerom — affectionately known as 'Papi' — has faithfully served God for over 70 years.​

He was the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God in the Netherlands (1975–1996) and founded Teen Challenge Haarlem.

 

Papo has planted more than 30 churches across France, Switzerland, Africa, and the Netherlands.

But International Church The Garden began in his very own back garden!
